Such as eyes, smiles, faces, bodies, fashion,\u00a0make-up,\u00a0etc&#8230;\u00a0 And yes,\u00a0God has created beauty\u00a0in this way.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is a beauty\u00a0which\u00a0goes beyond\u00a0the physical and\u00a0into the\u00a0heart, mind,\u00a0spirit, soul, and character.<\/p>\n<p>In saying this, I had the pleasure of hearing Ann\u00a0Voskamp speak last year at the\u00a0Allume\u00a0conference. I\u00a0had heard the buzz about her and her popular book, but never really paid attention.<\/p>\n<p>That is, until I heard her speak that fateful\u00a0night.<\/p>\n<p>Ann Voskamp\u00a0defines beauty on so many levels. She is stunning physically, but what stood out for me most, was what came out of her mouth. Her sweet spirit,\u00a0poetic words\u00a0and godly virtue spoke the loudest to me.<\/p>\n<p>Ann Voskamp and her memoir, <em>One Thousand Gifts\u00a0<\/em>oozes beauty. It&#8217;s like watching a sun\u00a0rise and\u00a0standing in\u00a0awe at\u00a0God&#8217;s creation. So is the experience reading her writing.<\/p>\n<p>I live in New York City. Many tourists visit from all over the world and invade this city.\u00a0You can see them\u00a0looking up and snapping photos at our towering buildings.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0my soul\u00a0yearns\u00a0for patches of green grass, trees and\u00a0blooming flowers.<\/p>\n<p>No tall building\u00a0will ever\u00a0compare to the majesty of God&#8217;s creation. Nothing comes close to what true beauty really is.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Beauty which goes beyond\u00a0the physical and reaches deep down within the recesses of our longing hearts.<\/p>\n<p>God created us to yearn for\u00a0His beauty.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Beauty cannot emanate from our lips if it hasn&#8217;t captured our hearts.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0wrote this\u00a0while meditating on Ann Voskamp&#8217;s poetic words. Her writing is rich and meaningful.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The beauty in which she conveys her life, is truly a gift from above. A blessing to all who read it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is what God does when we\u00a0choose to live for Him.<\/p>\n<p>He\u00a0changes our battered hearts and sin stained lives and\u00a0tranforms us. He takes the ashes and makes\u00a0it into something beautiful. He takes\u00a0pleasure in doing so, because He is the giver of life and good gifts too.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If I were to write a book one day, I would\u00a0only write it, if I could write as beautiful as Ann Voskamp\u00a0does. She writes with a true\u00a0sense of beauty, because her heart encompasses it.<\/p>\n<p>Beauty emanates\u00a0from heart on to\u00a0the page\u00a0for all to be blessed and enriched by.<\/p>\n<p>This is the true\u00a0gift and calling of\u00a0what it is to be a writer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The greatest giver of gifts, our Heavenly Father has breathed life and beauty into the soul, spirit and heart of Ann Voskamp to bless us all with her writing.<\/p>\n<p>If you haven&#8217;t read\u00a0her book,\u00a0you must.
